Home isolation for high-risk people who have been exposed to someone infected with Covid-19 is expected to be reduced from a week to five days starting next month.
Opas Karnkawinpong, director-general of the junta's Department of Disease Control (DDC), said Tuesday that the junta's National Communicable Disease Committee (NCDC) agreed on Monday that the quarantine period will be cut to five days while another five days will be required for them to observe and monitor their health.
"The global situation," Dr Opas told a media briefing, adding that people isolating at home are not deemed to be patients.

But he has found and displayed his ability.

infected 19,982 victims, the lowest number of new infections in weeks, and,
killed 101 people, which is currently about an average.

Thailand's junta has ordered five national expressways to stop charging tolls from today through Sunday.
The toll roads rush traffic to the East (Pattaya, etc) and to the Northeast (Korat, etc).
Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said this was a New Year's gift that would help people celebrating Songkran to return to the home povinces more quickly.

Negotiators from Thailand's junta and the new-name separatist BRN Barisan Revolusi Nasional Melayu Patani (BRN) aren't celebrating just yet.
But BRN, junta and Malaysian 'facilitators' involved say they are close to a "real deal" - whatever that means, and which no one can know about, for now.
This round of talks began on March 20, 2020, and has taken place almost exclusively over the Chinese sexting computer program Zoom.
Thailand's four-star General Wallop Raksanoh, former National Security Council (NSC) secretary-general, led the Thai negotiating team which engaged in the talks with Anas Abdulrahmah, the BRN representative, with Abdul Rahim bin Mohamad Noor acting as facilitator on the Malaysian government's behalf.
The two sides agreed last month to hold a cease-fire during Ramadan, and so far there have been no violations.
The BRN's nominal guerrilla leader Deng Awaeji has joined the talks for the first time.
