Dutch treat - Netherlands whips Team USA at World Cup
Good morning all kids worldwide, doesn't matter your looks or likes to be welcome here.
Some of you already know that Saturday's gone and it's already Sunday morning, everywhere on Earth. It is the last shopping day before Father's Day, on Monday.
USA lacking in discipline at the back. Dumfries had a whole postcode to himself there. This USA side needs steel at the back and a finisher up top. Talented but not the finished product.
Groan -- a young USA team conceding with school boy defending for the Dutch third goal.
'USA leaving themselves open'
You go chasing the game and leave yourselves open at the back. The Netherlands have a lot of pace up front.

It's a nice simple corner of the six yard box volley for Dumfries who is just waiting.
Two assists and a goal for Denzel Dumfries. He's had a fun evening.

Mark Judge: The 1980s on Trial
Compared to previous generations, kids today are less likely to have sex, drive, work, drink alcohol, date, or go out without their parents. A lot of this has to do with the advent of smartphones and social media. Kids these days are terrified that if they do something bold—or stupid—it will wind up on Facebook, YouTube, or Snapchat.
... Hefner's magazine rejected the rugged outdoorsman type celebrated in most men's magazines of the 1950s. He also criticized some of the counterculture of the time, rejecting the "noise" of rock 'n' roll in favour of sophisticated jazz.
The "Playboy Man" loved capitalism and disposable income.

Thailand's 'government' defends tax on stock market shares
The junta's new chief spokesperson Anucha Burapachaisri said the "new tax" is actually just the suspension of a long-ago law that taxed all stock market transactions by 1.1% or more.
"The tax won't be collected straight away.
"There's still time for the [brokers at the Stock Exchange of Thailand] to adjust to it," said Anucha mysteriously
Then he said the tax will not be collected until next year.
Even after the draft law is passed by parliament and published in the Royal Gazette, it will not come into effect for another three months.Â
Most, but not all institutes will be subject to the tax.

Junta cancels C-Band satellite broadcasts of World Cup
Viewers in Thailand will no longer be able to watch World Cup matches on C-band satellite television, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC) has ruled. The C-band signal was switched off December 1st following a warning from FIFA over broadcasting copyright, having found the country’s transmission access was also being used in other countries.

Snitches told FIFA that Lao, Khmer and Burmese (among others) were tuning into Thai TV to watch.
Which is super-extra-horribly bad, bccause they are not authorised to do that because none of their governments have handed over any loot whatsoever to legalise soccer-watching.
'New plan' may reduce smoggy days
The Thai junta's Department of Pollution Control said yesterday it can reduce haze and PM-2.5 smog by 20%.
Next year.
The plan calls for rigorous checking of all vehicles entering the GBA and Chiang Mai, and support for petrol from Bangchak and PTT stations.
Moreover, it will conduct thorough checks on all 896 coal, iron-making and cement plants in the capital and its neighbouring provinces to ensure they maintain the correct emissions standards.

The military [Tatmadaw] dictatorship in Myanmar has ordered judges to sentenced seven (7) students aged 18 to 24 to death.
That brings the population of Death Row at Yangon [Rangoon] Insein Prison to 139.
In one of the great understatements of 2022, a United Nations spokes person said
"Myanmar is using capital punishment as a tool to crush opposition".
On Wednesday last, the Tatmadaw issued instructions to a court to put the seven university students on secret trial because they have links, or might develop friendship with a group opposed to the military rule.
Since the army's coup last year, the Tatmadaw have killed around 2,000 "annoying" citizens without charges.
Aung San Suu Kyi is in that Insein prison and the Tatmadaw's plan is to keep her here, forever and ever.

The truly inimitable Crutch is all in this week on Word of the Day.
Oops, sorry. Words-plural.
It’s that time of the year when publishers of major dictionaries bombard us with what they regard as the "words of the year".
They rarely agree on the same offering, but there is one common theme -- nearly all words selected are frankly rather depressing.
PostScript has already reported on the Collins word of the year, "permacrisis" defined as "an extended period of instability and insecurity".
 Now that sounds like fun.
