Floods are coming... but how big?
The GGM (Great Greenland Melt) will probably maybe likely sink Bangkok in ten or seventy years possibly but here are two weather forecasts for right now.
The Bangkok newspaper Naew Na. Pretty, eh? It says that the GBF aka Great Bangkok Flood of 2022 will be like the three months of floods that put much of Bangkok underwater in 2011.
It says 'heavier than normal' rain, from now until October, will cause the Greatest Flood in 100 years in Bangkok.
And floods are coming... The question is, "how big?"
Downstream provinces put on alert
UPDATE
The Chao Phraya River barrage, which controls the water flow from the North to the Central Plains Region and Bangkok, is releasing more water as heavy downpours are expected this week.
A large volume of water has been accumulating from the North which has been hit by heavy rainfall.
The water has flowed downstream, forcing the Chao Phraya barrage in Chai Nat to discharge more water yesterday.
Waterways have burst their banks in two provinces: Klong Phon Pheng in Ang Thong and Klong Bang Ban in Ayutthaya - where vast tracts of farmland are being flooded
Just yesterday:

This year's flood will be caused by rain in the Central Region. Exactly how much and of what duration remains to be seen. The portents from countries and cities already flooded are dire.
It is time for new Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt to tell the public the facts about where and when low-lying areas are likely to be under a metre of water.

Quote du jour
The economic and energy disruption and damage to Canada and the U.S. from a Line 5 shutdown would be widespread and significant. This would impact energy prices, such as propane for heating homes and the price of gas at the pump.

BEFORE THE COMBAT
Soldiers show off their wai khru moves as part of a ritual to pay respects to masters of Thai boxing.
The performance was part of the annual wai khru boxing ritual competition held annually by the army at the Royal Thai Army Sports Centre in Bangkok.
Let's dispense with the day's Two Biggest Lies.
The Big Guy:
Do you realize the bullet out of an AR-15 travels 5 times as rapidly as a bullet shot out of any other gun?
No.
And Do You Realize The AR-15 Can "Vaporize a Body Within Seconds"?
Hard No.
Even though these are quickly provable lies and U.S. government dezinformatsiya, Twitter downright refuses to warn readers. Also Facebook, Google, etc.
Twitter's Lie:
C'mon man, give us the benefit of the doubt here, okay?
Pheu Thai to win poll, ex-PM says
Translation: The England-born, Oxbridge-education Abhisit Vejjajiva (raised from infancy to lead Thailand) told a grand meeting (Bangkok Post Forum) that the Pheu Thai Party will win next year's election in Thailand.
That presumes there will be an election, and presumes that the army that made Abhisit prime minister in 2008 doesn't do it again.
Abhisit's evolving theory is:
The Thai political landscape was designed by those who wanted to see a coalition government with many  parties, allowing  the  so-called "3 Ps" to hold power.
Where "the 3 P's" is the current ruling junta.
And where 'Pheu Thai' is the third iteration of Thaksin's party of the 1990s.

Single Point of Failure
Richard Fernandez: "In the [Chinese] Covid case, Anthony Fauci picked up the phone when the threat was inbound and no one dared question his judgment. 'Fauci now had a virtual carte blanche to not merely approve but design and run the kind of research projects he sought — and could do so with no oversight structure above him,' is the way Rindsberg puts it. And he may have overreacted, events now suggested."

TECHNOLOGY
Reported for Facecrime: California's new age verification law is a privacy disaster. (TechDirt)
The proposal here is to prove your age whenever you visit any website by recording a video of yourself repeating a random phrase, and using AI analysis to estimate how old your are based on your facial characteristics. Seriously, that's what they're suggesting.
Just block California at the firewall and be done.

Russia suspends gas flow to Europe amid energy crisis
Russia shut down its main gas pipeline to Europe for three days Wednesday amid one of the worst energy crises the European Union has faced in recent memory, a move that led to speculation over claims of making repairs.

... Even if the war in Ukraine goes on, Europe will both develop more sophisticated systems of energy allocation and gradually wean itself off its dependence on Russian gas.
