Go ahead. Bet you can't.
Good morning to all. It is Sunday, April 10, and here comes
The week of the Thai New Year Festival, known as Songkran
The heaviest single week of highway crashes and fatalities.
The sad part is the continuing, unstoppable wave of Chinese Covid-19 coronavirus.
On Saturday alone, Thailand suffered
25,298 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19
98 additional deaths, caused by the virus.

Challenge. Double-Dog Dare.
For the past three weeks, Thailand's so-called government has presented a dozen regulations for the entry of foreigners, especially tourists.
Authorities have persistently presented them as "easing off" the harsh programmes like Thailand Pass and pre-flight PCR testing and so on.
Today's Challenge: Write down the actual documents, tests and authentications you would require to entire Thailand this week.
Go ahead. Bet you can't.
But keep it optimistic, like the CCSA, the regime's quite laughable agency of rules, regulations, masking-up, holding family parties, getting another shot, and so on
On Saturday, this Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), disappearing like the smile of a Cheshire Cat, spread this 'official' story:
By May, the existing regulations for entering Thailand (RT-PCR tests and so on) will be eased again.
By July, they'll be gone.
That's possible, but it depends...

Pareena goes mad. Sorry, madder.
The detestable Ratchabuti province MP and crooked businesswoman Pareena Kraikupt considered the Supreme Court decision to throw her out of politics for life.
For a couple of seconds. And sneered, "Who cares?"
She will have something to say, soon, but "outside parliament".
Pareena seemed to have yet another plan to dodge her legal, criminal problems and come out as a big winner.
The disgraced woman wrote on Facebook:
"I will soon make a comeback to politics, although not in parliament."

And then, the animals.
If you think (correctly) that Thailand's tourism industry has suffered its worst disaster in history, well, it has.
But apart from the job losses...
According to Save Elephant Foundation, there were around 3,500 elephants at 260 tourist elephant camps in Thailand in January of 2020.
As of today, the foundation is trying to care fo 112 jumbos.
Just providing basic food, water and health care, there is a need for huge plots of land.
The foundation needs mahouts, business owners and animal conservationists to help.
And donations.

NOTE: During its first year and three months in power, the new Tatmadaw dictators
have killed more than 1,700 people
 arrested more than 13,000
systematically tortured children, women and men.
BACK STORY
Thai Airways International (THAI), still in bankruptcy hearings, announed on Thursday it is leasing three Triple-7s, from a completely unidentified lessor, mostly for cargo but then for flights to London, and wherever.
Good points in this letter to the editor:
For everyone in the U.S.A. Northwest, soon to be inundated by 30-foot tsunamis from all those undersea earthquakes (confact Mark for further details)
Truly, this is not a bad deal.

Yeah, and speaking of all that arsenic in the rice...
Detectable levels of uranium found in two-thirds of U.S. water systems.
(Whatever in hell "detectable" means.)

Speaking of lies, propaganda and deliberate misinformation, is it going to be possible to ask malig-Nan Pelosi...
What happened to that "40-kilometre convoy" of Russian army troops, trucks, rocket bases that she and U.S. President Biden assured us was headed to Kiev (aka Kyiv)?
 Ms Pelosi,
It wasn't a completely fabricated made-up propaganda lie. Was it?
Any objection?
Abolish the F.B.I. Burn the Hoover Building to the ground and then salt that ground.

Here is a memorable photo, captured in the Limey press and soon (we hope) worldwide:
This is the Moment a Chinese 'Covid prevention guard' chases down a corgi and beat it to death with a shovel because its owner was infected – as Shanghai residents run out of food in doomed Zero Covid lockdown.

SHANGHAI, PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA
How's that "zero Covid" policy working out for you, Jinping?
Beijing claims to have sent 10,000 additional health workers from across the country to Shanghai, including 2,000 military personnel.
BECAUSE Only the People's Liberation Army can stop this Chinese virus.

There are excellent photos and comments here, virtually all from Shanghai.

I have seen this movie. When the dictators see their failures, the first (and only) thing they do is to reach for their Warrior Army.

Hoping for some Songkran loot
The chief of the totally failed Tourism Authority of Thailand, Nanthawan Siriphokphat, says she's pretty (and pretty) that just about everyone in the South of Thailand - meaning everyhing from Surat Thani to Malaysia, is going to pocket loot and smile at the profits from the Songkran holiday.
She says she did a survey, which proved that 54,198 foreigners and Thais will show up on the eastern islands, and make it rain with their cash.
In fact, 18,307 will be foreigners.

Anti-drug cops in Thailand had an active week.
They got a top international methamphetamine smuggler, as a gift from Myanmar's Tatmadaw dictators.
Which is weird because no one knows why the new Burmese dictators gave him up.
But, hey, never look a Burmese gift burro in the mouth.

Following which, unusually alert narcs in Nakhon Si Thamjmarat, Thailand, cace across a drug trafficker and girlfriend-helper.
Thanasak Chiwasaro, 40, and cuddly friend Aree were on a wanted list for
drug trafficking trying to kill cops during a 2019 shootout.
The pair, pictured below and both from northern Thailand, won't see sunlight for a while.

The strangest case came with the arrest of a Japanese man and three Thai accomplices.
U.S., Thai and Japanese police believe the Japanese is a yakuza big shot, with three Thai helpers.
The story, as of now
They were moving heroin and methamphetamine packets from Burmese rebels AND
trying to buy crazy stuff including Stinger missiles to sell to Burmese, Thai and Sri Lankan rebels.
The United States and its failed D.E.A. are revealing little information, but this is book-worthy.
