'Prayut is still top dog'
The man who wrote Thailand's current constitution has told the Constitutional Court that Prayut still has three more years as token 'prime minister' of the military-controlled government.
Meechai Ruchupan has directed the last four committees to write acceptable constitutions. All but the current one have been torn up by military coups.
He is one of just three men ordered to write an opinion to the court on Prayut's future.
Prayut has also insisted, in writing, that he should remain in office. No one asked the current "caretaker prime minister" General Prawit Wongsuwon what he thinks.

Meechai's submission to the Constitutional Court was leaked to the media yesterday. It locks the nine justices into an unpleasant legal corner.
Meechai told the court that Prayut actually appointed himself as prime minister of Thailand on April 6, 2017 - and the appointment runs for eight (8) years.
NOTE: All major political parties opposed the 2017 constittion - but junta forces 'persuaded' political leaders to say that they supported it.

Assets worth over B200m seized from crypto firm CEO
The main company involved is P Miner Cryptocurrency Group Company.
Thailand's cybercrime police seized the assets of Kittikorn Inta and his girlfriend.
Then they issued arrest warrants for both - who are on the run from their homes in Chiang Mai. Most of the charges allege a Ponzi scheme by the two.

Hotel invasion
In very early 2020, when Thailand's junta declared a health emergency and lockdown, the owner of the attractive (and very affordable) Blue Lagoon Hotel at the Chaweng Beach of Koh Samui locked the doors and went home.
On Monday, in preparation to reopen - 348 rooms, 400 million baht investment - he found that a gang had stripped everything - everything - beds and tablecloths, wiring and showers, elevators and curtains...
Local police arrested six (6) people on initial charges of the break-in, and they are looking for more.
When the statistics roll in on Covid-19 effects, this won't count.

10 Rohingya rescued from sea, 41 others found on island
The horror of human trafficking is back, and once again the obvious victims are Rohingya, from Myanmar and Bangladesh's refugee camp.
Ten men were found floating in the Andaman Sea near Koh (island) Bulone of Satun province in the far south.
Then, another 41 Rohingya were later found on a nearby island.
The Langu district chief, said the Rohingya told officials they had travelled in a small, packed boat from the state of Rakhine in Myanmar and were heading to Indonesia.
