It is NEVER too early to buy a strong helmet to protect against the 2031 crash of the International Space Station
Hello World. Today is (or soon will be, depending where you are camped) Wednesday, February 9.
MYANMAR ASEAN MEETINGS
The Myanmar (Burma) military dictator says he might allow a few officials from ASEAN countries to meet a handful of imprisoned BFFs of Aung San Suu Kyi, but not the locked-up Suu Kyi herself.
Senior General and Tatmadaw commander Min Aung Hlaing hasn't named the members of National League for Democracy (NLD) he feels can be trusted to talk to ASEAN officials. Cambodia will have a leading voice on which ASEAN members will be chosen.
The military leader is overseeing a multitude of legal charges designed to keep "The Lady" imprisoned in the rotten Insein jail until she dies.
And dozens of NLD party members are in prison with Suu Kyi.

THAILAND OPINION COLUMNS
Military should ask themselves why Thai student test scores are so low
There is no secret that past and present military governments have distorted history to sell their agenda in the classroom.
It is also no secret that Thailand's conservative elite have gone along with the rewriting of history because it suits their narrative.
...For example, some public schools still teach students that Thailand has never been colonized by anyone.
 Which is nonsense.
"As a law lecturer, I am also concerned over the distortion [of history] and the unjust enforcement of the law," Ponson Liengboonlertchai, a law lecturer Chulalongkorn University, wrote on his social media page.
And no teaching of the great pro-democracy movements between 1970 and 1995 is allowed.

Thailand's ruling junt complained of falling revenue
The Ministry of Energy is planning to gradually increase the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for 1 baht per kilogramme as the subsidy fund faces hurdles from a global surge in fuel prices.
Currently, LPG and diesel prices are capped with support from the state oil fund, which now has a deficit of 14 billion baht. LPG prices are fixed at 318 per 15-kilogramme gas cylinder, so is diesel at no more than 30 baht per litre.
The measure to cap LPG prices will end on March 31, and the prices will likely rise to 333 and 363 on a quarterly basis, said Permanent Secretary for energy Kulit Sombatsiri.

About that CNN falderal:
The CNN Sex Party Comes To An End.
Under Jeff Zucker, it was pretty clear the fraternization rules were viewed more as suggestions.
Quite a few CNN employees sleeping together (see: Dana Bash and John King) or pleasuring themselves on video chats with no consequences (see, actually don’t see, Jeff Toobin). With 2 former producers being linked to paedophilia and one current anchor being sued for allegedly shoving his hands down the pants of a man, CNN is like a sex club from hell.
The end of the orgy isn’t what upset CNN staff, it was something even worse…for people with no scruples or talent – they are terrified that their next boss might want some accountability.
 As Dawn La-Mon puts it:
Thank you Jeff Zucker for everything you did for everyone at this network and for what you did to the entire country.
I mean FOR the entire country.
We need to ask Doctor Fauci and his monsters to testify under oath where they were during the month of December. Because...
A strain of gonorrhoea – described as super-gonorrhoea – which is resistant to antibiotics has been identified in England.
Three new cases of Neisseria gonorrhoea have been confirmed by the UK Health Security Agency, bringing the total to four in recent months, after the first case was discovered at the end of last year.
A woman in her 20s in London and a heterosexual couple also in their 20s in the Midlands have recently been diagnosed with the STI.
This particular form of gonorrhoea is resistant to the antibiotic ceftriaxone, the Daily Mirror reports.
