It takes a junta to allow one last round
Hello kids. Tuesday morning at the stately and internationally acclaimed Fishwrap and just 26 days before our next New Year's Eve debauchery.
A propos of very little or nothing I counted the days since all those with functioning brains realised that the nonsensical Y2K panic was a hoax, designed to cause a lengthy panic and provide time to remove money from an entire human stratum of those "well trained computer scientists" and well-off financial houses and industries. And it worked a charm.
Number of days since irrefutable proof that Y2K was a ludicrous hoax: 8,375 (and increasing daily),
THAILAND DRINKING PUBS JUNTA
It takes a junta to allow another round
Thailand learned on Monday that the entire, complete 'government' appointed by the ruling junta will discuss and (perhaps later) decide whether pubs, bars, discos, karaoke parlours etc etc etc will be "allowed" to open later than 2 a.m. or ordered to shut their doors earlier.
MYANMAR KAVI INDIA G20
Always-informed columnist Kavi Chongkittavorn looks ahead a year and analyses the G20's next summit, to be held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
G20-2023: What is India's agenda?
Judging from India's growing confidence and leadership, New Delhi will not be shy in placing its interests and those of other developing countries up front.

CRYPTO PONZI FTX
True. The sad part is that no one, definitely including the Prayut 'government' intends to investigate Thailand's similar cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme MORE.

CORONAVIRUS CHINA ZERO COVID
China is backing out of its absurd "zero-Covid" policy. Details to come.
The stated goal of reducing each outbreak to zero new infections... gone.
The BBC says it's all about saving the face of President4Life Xi Jinping, which sounds logical.
Beijing: There has not been a significant drop in infections, yet public transport now no longer requires a PCR test result, bars and restaurants are slowly re-opening, and in some cases people are being allowed to isolate at home after catching Covid instead of going into centralised quarantine facilities.

NOW DO THAILAND
Okay. There is (supposedly) yet another outbreak of yet another mutation of the Omicron variation of Covid.
The reported new outbreak of another virus mutation comes just as businesses pin their hopes on a strong December economic recovery, based on lively shopping activity, entertainment events and vibrant tourism.
Highly reliable medical sources and Thai scientists claimed on Monday there is "a rising death toll" from Covid infections.
In seven days in late November, Thailand admitted another 4,914 virus victims to hospital, and there were 74 fatalities.
Alleged "health experts" said sure, it's partly the chilly weather that all viruses love, but also don't forget a lot more people are gathering in a lot more crowds to shop and so on.
And yet... Crowds Gather. Photo shows a large gathering in front of a simulated Christmas tree at Samyan Mitrtown.

Nicholas Wade is an honest reporter who can be taken seriously.
Newly released emails cast more doubt than ever on the official story of Covid-19 as a naturally occurring virus.

O CANADA! John 11-35 (KJV)
A Canadian Paralympian and military veteran asked if she could obtain a wheelchair elevator.
Canada offered, in writing, to help her commit suicide.
She testified to the Canadian House of Commons committee on veteran affairs which offered zero help of any kind.
Trudeau The Younger said that was just awful, eh? And punished and made accountable the usual round digit of people who are employed by his government.

The Tuesday Morning Joke
Guy and his Rottweiler Gustav go into a bar.
Bartender says "This is a respectable bar, we do NOT allow animals in here!"
Man says "This is no ordinary animal, this dog Gustav, is a talking dog!"
Bartender says "Prove it!"
Man says "Gustav, how does sandpaper feel?"
Gustav the dog says "Ruff! Ruff! Ruff!"
Man says "Gustav, what's on the top of a house?"
Gustav the dog says "Roof! Roof! Roof!"
Man says "Gustav, who was the greatest baseball player of all time?"
Gustav the dog says "Ruth! Ruth! Ruth!"
Bartender says "I have enough of this nonsense, you are both fakers, now get out of my bar!"
Man says "You're making a big mistake, but we will leave if that's going to be your attitude!"
The man and the dog walk to the door, but just before they exit, the dog turns back and looks at the bartender and says "Would you accept Joe DiMaggio as an alternative answer?" (h/t Ace)
Even the United  Nations gets it
The U.N. is distributing a free Op-ed in the hopes that newspapers, magazines and websites will reprint it.
The author, Sir Charles James Petrie, 6th Baronet, OBE, has made his living bloviating about Burma and now Myanmar. His suggested headline for the U.N.-sponsored commentary refers specifically to ASEAN:
Confronting tragic fragmentation
Sir Charles writes: And the United Nations in all of this?
The U.N. has a major role to play in Myanmar, but unfortunately, it continues to fail.
PHOTO: Taken in August of 2021 in eastern Yangon (Rangoon) during the "bleeding strike" protest against the Tatmadaw coup.
(Cont'd) The U.N.'s in-country presence is seen as complicit to the regime.
The absence of confidence in the U.N. has meant that the U.N. Special Envoy is criticised for the simple fact of meeting the senior SAC leadership rather than being scrutinised for what she was able to achieve.
The senior leadership in New York seems unable or unwilling to provide any form of overall leadership.

BILL GATES PAEDOPHILE EPSTEIN ISLAND
Bill Gates Proves Money Can't Buy Morals.
The world's second wealthiest U.S. nerd flew aboard the airplane of Jeffrey Epstein (who did not kill himself} at least repeat at least 37 times in order to visit Epstein's paedophile-stocked island of Little Saint James.
Where the tweens were incarcerated to be used by visiting phuyai such as Gates and Prince Andrew.
TWO of the unresolved questions: How many times did Bill Gates visit the isle of paedophile pleasure and what did he do there?
His wife Melinda warned him over and over about associated with the psycho sex addict. And then she divorced him, removing and keeping a pretty penny from his savings.

Incidents of extreme heat in the American heartland is completely consistent with global warming.
