The Covid-19 pandemic is 'nearly over'
ACHTUNG ATTENTION
IRONY AHEAD
Thailand may be almost ready to treat Covid-19 as an emdemic disease. Not yet, though.
The person saying this, yesterday afternoon, at a forum sponsored by Forbes magazine, was the Dean Doctor Professor of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University - Doctor Prasit Watanapa.
The "renowned" doctor (the word of the Bangkok Post) is famed for failing to make any accurate analysis or predication about the novel virus since January of 2020, which is even before the junta's Covid Lockdown.
As of today, he analysed to several invited guests, "
We can say that we are nearing the end of the [Covid-19] pandemic. Many people are talking about the announcement of endemic status even though the World Health Organization [WHO] has yet to issue any formal guidance on the matter,
Thailand has done very well to bring the death rate down to 0.09%.
[As for his own Siriraj Hospital, it is] now in the process of developing AI technology to identify patients living with depression using algorithmic analysis of muscular activity caused by changes in an individual's facial expressions during examination alongside corresponding changes in vocal tone.
To put it another way
The pandemic is not over, the emergency lockdown will continue until morale improves and outbreaks of Covid 'variants and mutations' seems certain.

THAILAND TOURISM PAPERWORK
Yes, well, don't we all?
Minister wants Thai Pass axed
Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakan said he will ask Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to propose that the Thailand Pass registration scheme be axed at the next meeting of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).
By coincidence, Phiphat accompanied Pryut to Phuket yesterday "to inspect education and tourism policies". During their trip, Phiphat did not ask Prayut to rubbish Thailand Pass.
All arriving foreigners, by air or sea or on foot, require a Thailand Pass or go back home. It is not required for Thai nationals.
The bulky, time-inefficient Thailand Pass is part of the junta's claim that Thailand is 'completely reopened'.

Have you had your 4th shot of anti-Covid vaccine? Because
Thailand's junta-loyal 'ministry of public health' is investigating your need for a 5th shot.
The lucky first-in-liners, said Opas Karnkawinpong, chief of the Department of Disease Contol, are those who must urgently travel to China or Japan.
And by coincidence, at the same time, the extremely mysterious four-star general who heads the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) claimed that the junta will start rolling out the fifth shot as the vaccines it has in stock are about to expire.
[The junta-appointed director of the CCSA deniability office was quite suddenly identified on Monday: four-star general Supoj Malaniyom. Go ahead. Look him up.]
The Bangkok governor also said he is in favour of allowing all night spots to stay open until 2 a.m.

PRAYUT HUMAN TRAFFICKING CORRUPTION
Prayut said on Monday he is against human trafficking, "“a significant threat to national security".
He spoke to a small forum on National Anti-Human Trafficking Day, organised exclusively by aides in hgis office.
He "accidentally" let slip an alleged statistic:
The number of cases rose by 41% to 188 cases last year - up from from 133 cases in 2000.
NOTE: Prayut was also 'prime minister' during the last murderous surge of human trafficking in 2015.

NATO RUSSIA UKRAINE TURKEY
Many 'experts' and pointy heads have recommended that NATO be disbanded.
This Turkish journalist believes in contrast, that NATO should embrace Finland and Sweden, expel hostage-taker Erdogan and Turkey.
... Erdoğan seems to think that he has found a golden opportunity to blackmail the entire Western alliance, and get the maximum out of a list of official and unofficial demands. Erdoğan also seems to be hoping to reset Turkey's badly strained ties with the West, most notably with the U.S.
