The Nida Poll of the National Institute of Development Administration announced its weekly survey - this time asking registered voters in provinces of the Eastern Region who they wanted for prime minister.
25% - Paetongtarn (photo below) of Pheu Thai Party, youngest child of Thaksin Shinawatra.
16% - Pita Limjaroenrat of the progressive Move Forward Party.
13% - Prayut
Separate Question: What party will you vote for?
34% - Pheu Thai, the remnant of Thaksin's old Thai Rak Thai.
19% - Pita's leftist Move Forward Party.
In third place: Undecided.

The Nida Poll has shown petite and pregnant Paetongtarn and Pheu Thai as top vote-winners in in every region except the South, which presumably is being surveyed even as you read.
Political analysts state that it doesn't look good for Prayut. "Fraught with risk" was the front-page headline on the Bangkok Post's analysis.
 Prayut's pre-election options are to stay put or jump ship, and both are hazardous.
Prayut never has stood for election and never has appealed for votes.
He is likely to announce soon that he will join and lead the brand new Ruam Thai Sang Party. That would pit him directly against the 2014 coupmeister General Prawit Wongsuwan.
Prayut has survived increasingly tiny vote victories in parliament but factions are unhappy with his performance.
His APEC 'summit' received lukewarm "success".

Two Thai women have died after suffering from illness while hiking in Nepal.
Mt Everest Today reported on its website on Saturday that the women had died at the foot of Mesokanto La Pass, northwest of Kathmandu, on Friday morning.
