Floods slightly subsided on Tuesday in communities and business areas in the heart of the northern province but were still deeper than one meter at some locations.
 Meanwhile, spreading floodwater reached the archeological site of Wiang Kum Kam.

Four out of 16 districts were declared as disaster zones.
Forest run-off from Phulanka mountain range has flooded four districts including Muang (the central) district, the heart of the province for three consecutive days.
 The city hall and business areas as well as 25 communities have been inundated and the water level keeps rising.

The Ping is more than 80 centimetres above 'critical' flood level.
Many schools have closed.

 Woman's body parts buried under expressway in grisly murder case
Police Forensics say they have identified the 30-year-old woman.
The homicide division has arrested a 35-year-old Bangkok man. They say he:
murdered the woman
cut her dead body into parts and put them in garbage bags
buried the bags under an expressway in the Ram Intra area of Bangkok.
The crime was busted by a housekeeper at the condominium contacted police, saying that while cleaning a room she noticed a stench of blood.
CCTV showed the killer with two plastic bags filled with the dismembered woman. He confessed.
