New York Times thinks Biden is too aged to be president
Welcome to the prestigious, internationally acclaimed, stately, and illustrious Monday Morning Fishwrap.
Good morning to all my boys and girls and others, it is another Monday in eastern Bangkok and soon, everywhere on Earth.
I encourage all to place a warm kitty or a master-loving puppy in your lap, and read on.
Welp... Don Tony Blinken (left, above) finally made it to Bangkok (on his third attempt), and it's just about a useless trip.Maybe they'll give him a tour of the temples. Here's the junta-approved headline:
Junta agrees to boost U.S. ties
To be honest... there were no plans whatsoever to reduce U.S. ties.
 To be honest, and mirthful
Prayut demanded that Blinken give Thailand a better world grade on fighting human trafficking.
And to his credit, Blienken said, sure, no problem, we can give Thailand a better grade as soon as Thailand shows some success in battling human trafficking.
Oh, and he also asked Prayut if he had any ideas how to stop the slaughter and 'restore in Myanmar' and Prayut's response, if any, went unrecorded.

Who shot Shinzo Abe and why?
If you haven't read any "everything we know about Abe's shooter" yet, this is quite a well-done, fact-packed article with, in Joe Friday's words, 'Just The Facks,k Ma'am."

Don Tony Blinken is on his way to Bangkok, so this headline and story write themselves, jeez.
 Security tightened after Abe's killing
Measures beefed up ahead of Blinken–Prayut meeting
I do think it's worth reporting and repeating that this is the third (3rd) time Blinken was firmly scheduled for a Bangkok trip since he took over from John Kerry, who also was a master at Thailand overflights.

NOTE
Prayut still uses a bulletproof Mercedes Benz S600 Guard sedan, worth 19.5 million baht, as his vehicle.
NOTE 2
The real actual authentic security providers for this sort of stuff is 'Santi Baan', the police Special Branch.

Removing from watchlist
The Thai junta's ministry of public health has revoked its previous declaration of seven countries as Covid-19 danger zones, citing an improvement in the pandemic situation and the global vaccination coverage against coronavirus.
The seven most-watched countries:
 Italy
 Iran
 Malaysia
 Cambodia
 Laos
 Myanmar and
 Indonesia
The removal of the seven countries from the list was one of two key decisions made by the committee on Friday.
The other was the declaration of monkeypox as Thailand’s 56th communicable disease.
Which is quite weird because the number of monkeypox cases and the number of communicable monkeypox cases in Thailand remained steady with a perfectly round number.

Bird's eye view of storming the Presidential Palace.
[Monday morning joke. And lesson.]
A man wakes up after a heavy night of drinking to his wife happily cooking breakfast.
Confused, he approaches his daughter for an explanation of last night when he arrived home.
"You kicked in the door when you couldn't get your key in the lock, fell through the table and broke it, and pissed your pants."
"Jesus! So then why the hell is she in such a good mood?"
"When she tried to take your pants off to wash them, you slapped her hand away and said, 'Get your hands off me! I'm married!'"

FACT-CHECKED. TRUE.
Japanese ex-prime minister Shinzo Abe died without even once tweeting that, "I have information that will lead to the arrest of Hillary Clinton."
KNIVES OUT: Biden Is Too Old to Be President Says... The New York Times?
It's extraordinary for a partisan news outlet like The New York Times to publish an in-depth look at such an "uncomfortable" issue as the president's age in a 2,500-word (yes!) article.
If anyone else had done it, they would be pilloried for their partisanship.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Book Review
I just finished Red Horizons, Chronicles of a Communist Spy Chief that I highly recommend, written by Ion Mihai Pacepa. He was the highest ranking defector, at that time, of a communist country and immigrated to the United States in '78. His story is fascinating. He was literally a right hand man, the highest of advisors, to Romania's dictator president Nicolae Ceausescu and his ghastly wife, Elena.
He died last year, at 92, of Covid. [h/t Ace]
The book goes into great detail on Ceausescu's stealing of technology from capitalist countries, and his favorite techniques involving "disinformation" campaigns and the placing of "influence" persons abroad to achieve his goals.

When satire is too spot-on?
Keep the masses poor, tired and hungry
The United Nations wrote, edited, published in 'the United Nations Chronicle', then distributed a commentary on the 'Benefits’ of World Hunger'. Noting that, 'Hungry People Are the Most Productive People.'
U.N. staff have tried to memory-hole it. But the internet never forgets.

EVEN the Washington Post made a heroic effort to confirm that a rapist impregnated a 10-year-old and she had to be taken to another state for an abortion. Of course, the Washington Post could do no such thing, just as the Washington Post tried and failed to confirm that stupid story about how Trump "lunged for the steering wheel" in a vehicle that didn't exist.
I liked it better when newspapers had the cojones to admit: "You screwed up. You trusted us."
This is a good and detailed piece on the fraudulent story of the 'pregnant child'. Also revealing.
