Pattaya begs for help and no one listens
Children! Children! Please, stop the noise. It is Sunday March 6, and we have subjects to cover.
Suni does it again
Sunisa Lee re-defines "perfect" as Auburn University scores 198 and defeats the U.S.A. Number Three gymnastic team from the University of Florida.
Suni earned a 10.0 on the beam. And said,
"So surreal. It really does feel like a family the way we all celebrated together. It's not like anything I've ever experienced in my life. It was pure happiness. Our energy was way up there."
Sunisa had won the all-around Friday with a 39.775 to lead No. 5 Auburn to a 197.925-197.150 win over Kentucky, the highest score in program history and the Tigers' seventh consecutive 197 or better.
The Ukrainians are back!
Tourists and visitors from Ukraine have been busy for more than a week, showing their opinion of the Russian invasion of their homeland.
On Saturday, around 100, including Thai friends, walked into central Bangkok's Lumpini Park to display their opinions.
The group held signs saying, "Stop Genocide", "Peace in Ukraine" and "No War", raised the Ukrainian national flag, and sang the Ukrainian national anthem.
They shouted in unison "stop Putin, stop the war" and "close the sky over Ukraine".
They still weren't done. The group also staged a play in which women in white dress painted themselves in red to resemble blood stains, lit candles and chanted prayers. (Photo below)
The rally ended peacefully within an hour. A number of the ralliers' children came along to help.

The Russian embassy in Bangkok, capital of the allegedly so-called "neutral" Thailand, was unamused.
Russians at work in the embassy told the media to order all Thais, "Don't join Ukraine military campaign."
"The Russian Defence Ministry advises strongly against participation in foreign military campaigns."
Whatever that means.
tbf, dozens of young Thais (and counterparts in Taiwan)( have offered to travel to Ukraine and fight against Russia.
This statement came out of the Russian embassy in Bangkok.
In short: If any Thais try to fight for Ukraine and we capture them, they are mercenaries and there will be no day in court.

Say this for the Russians. At least they have an ambassador in Thailand.
Russian officials said they had detained the W.N.B.A. star Brittney Griner after finding hashish oil in her luggage.

Pattaya begs for help and no one listens
The owners of bars, restaurants, dance halls and so on have submitted coordinated pleas to the ruling junta:
Please let us stay open longer than 11 p.m.
So far, all military authorised officials have stayed silent.

CORONAVIRUS THAILAND
Those officials, plus the military-appointed 'government' plus every "medical expert" in the country have been useless in the right against the Chinese Covid-19 coronavirus.
Saturday's toll:
22,818 new Covid cases, down a tad from Friday (1,124 in ICU, 355 on ventilators).
The number of confirmed Chinese Covid-19 cases in Thailand since Novemberf, 2019, has passed 3 million.
52 more Covid-19 deaths, as the number of victims rises by the day.
I called this, more than two months ago.
DIPLOMACY MYANMAR ASEAN
The Tatmadaw (army) dictatorship has summarily revoked the citizenship of every declared member of the political opposition.
Every single figure, no exception.
Ousted members of the elected Burmese parliament formed the National Unity Government after the military putsch in February of last year. Their decalared goal: Oust the Tatmadaw coup.
The Tatmadaw published a notice on Saturday in the state newspaper, Global New Light of Myanmar:
The [opposition group] has violated the existing laws of the State and ... found to be committing acts that could harm the interests of Myanmar.
Similar perpetrators will be identified and prosecuted.
The nominal head of the NUG is Aung San Suu Kyi - 76 years old and unlikely ever to be released from the fetid Insein Prison.
The Tatmadaw's de-citizenship action confuses the aim of U.S. President Joe Biden who (for reasons known only to himself) claims he will invite a nice, non-political Burmese politician to his U.S.-ASEAN "summit" later this month.

THAILAND ECONOMY INTERNET PAYPAL
Starting tomorrow (Monday) PayPal users in Thailand can restart using their ac accounts again.
Sort of.
PayPal's corporate headquarters in California, and its meek, obedient office in Bangkok issued a non-statement statement saying, in effect, "Too bad, So sad."
You may continue shopping with your PayPal wallet as well as sending and receiving money.
No action is required by users.
But within the next few months, the account of every PayPal user in Thailand will be transferred to "PayPal Thailand" and taxed.
And with that, PayPal Thailand ended its confusing website notice with this:
The company apologises for any confusion caused.
THAILAND ECONOMY INTEREST RATES
Despite inflation, Bank of Thailand (below) will maintain record low rates until the second half of 2023
The market's consensus on the US Federal Reserve's interest rate hike is changing, but the Bank of Thailand (BOT) is still expected to hold its rates until the second half of 2023, according to Standard Chartered Bank.
"We expect a 25 basis point per hike for four times in a row this year, between March and July," Tim Leelahaphan, Bangkok-based economist for Vietnam and Thailand at Standard Chartered Bank told Thai Enquirer via phone on Friday.
"Some houses earlier saw more than four times this year, and some expect a 50 basis point increase at a time, but the consensus is changing, some even saw only three hikes this year," he said.

THAILAND HUMAN TRAFFICKING
Thailand's Total Nonsense News Agency (TTNNA) tries to get away with this one on Saturday, hoping no one could notice:
About 10,000-15,000 Thai children and women are illegally trafficked to Japan each year to serve its sex industry, according to a study conducted by a senior police officer.
Thank Police Lieutenant Colonel Pongnakorn Nakhonsantiphap for the info, three weeks ahead of April Fool's Day. He is also a doctor.

THUMBSUCKING
Oh, stop your whining and drop your ridiculous whataboutisms.
No, the Russian invasion of Ukraine is nothing like previous invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan.
There were critics and protests for years in the West, with Bush and Blair called "war criminals". So stop blubbering, and discuss a real, actual, current war criminal today - Vlad Putin.
