Wannipa used her own social media, Facebook and IG accounts, to search for killers and a gunman to rid herself of Pichit. When she found (she thought) exactly the right trio who promised to bring in a shooter, she paid them 78,000 baht in up-front money, from her own bank account.
The men shot and wounded Pichit in northern Bangkok but didn't kill him. He fled to his hometown in Maha Sarakham province in Isan, where he died and doctors signed the death certificate as "natural causes" even though he had bullet wounds.
The case took hours for Bangkok's Royal Thai Police to solve and Ms Wannipa is housed with free room and very basic meals, awaiting trial.
