Residents of Lop Buri Thailand are more afraid of monkeys than monkeys fear Lop Buri citizens
Hello World, particularly the Fishwrap readers.
We put the Tuesday morning Bulldog to bed and watched the Super Bowl at the same time! It was good, eh? Here's our result.
Reba McEntire sang the U.S. National Anthem rather beautifully. In tune. And Usher's halftime gig also seemed perfect.

Because if the government can't tend to monkey business, who will?

[Tuesday Morning Joke. Or is it?]
British Medical Journal
There is a medical distinction between "Guts" and "Balls".
We've heard colleagues referring to people with "Guts", or with "Balls".
Do they, however, know the difference between them?
Here's the official distinction; straight from the British Medical Journal: Volume 323; page 295.
GUTS - Is arriving home late, after a night out with the lads, being met by your wife with a broom, and having the "Guts" to ask: "Are you still cleaning, or are you flying somewhere?"
BALLS - Is coming home late after a night out with the lads, smelling of perfume and beer, lipstick on your collar, slapping your wife on the bum and having the "Balls" to say: 'You're next, Chubby.'
I trust this clears up any confusion.
Medically speaking, there is no difference in outcome; both are fatal. [h/t Ace]
Unique, exceptionally well preserved pre-dinosaur (Ordovician) fossil bed discovered in south of France
Two amateur paleontologists, Eric Monceret and Sylvie Monceret-Goujon, described a 470-million-year-old (Early Ordovician) fossil assemblage, named the Cabrières Biota, from southern Montagne Noire, France.
Dr. Saleh and co-authors examined nearly 400 exceptionally well-preserved fossils with soft-tissue preservation from the site.

An artistic reconstruction of the Cabrières Biota: in the foreground, a row of Ampyx (trilobites) and various shelly organisms, including brachiopods and a hyolith (bottom left corner); behind the trilobites, a lobopodian, a chelicerate, cnidarians (blue), sponges (green), thin branching algae (red and green) and hemichordate tubes (purple), along with some mollusks; bivalved arthropods inhabit the water column along with graptolites.

We were informed that graptolites, trilobites, brachiopods, and the conodonts (early vertebrates) and so on and so forth are found at high elevation, specifically on Everest, but we were wrongly informed.
YouTube has lots of stuff on the Ordovician, most (or all) of it very informed and up to date.
USA GOVERNMENT DEFENCE
Lloyd Austin, the U.S. Secretary of Defence, is back in the hospital, this time with "a bladder issue". (He also has prostate cancer.)
This time, the Pentagon remembered to inform President Biden, leaders of Congress.
Austin took his top-secret comms equipment, in case he has to order defence forces to drop a hydrogen bomb somewhere, or something similar.

ALSO SPORTS TRAGEDY
The world record holder in the marathon was killed in a road accident in his native Kenya.
Kelvin Kiptum broke Eliud Kipchoge's world record in Chicago last October with a time of two hours and 35 seconds in the gruelling 26-plus mile [42-km] race.
Kiptum was the driver of the car at 11 p.m. on Sunday. Police said the vehicle "lost control and rolled, killing the two (Kiptum and his coach) on the spot".
His coach, Hakizimana, 36, was a retired Rwandese runner. "I knew him when he was a little boy, herding livestock barefooted." (BBC https://t.ly/Ar0rO)
