Russian billionaire poisoned... but not to death. Yet.
It seems that today is Wednesday March 30, so tomorrow and the next day be careful with everyone you talk to.
Bangkok weather: a little bit of rain and 33 Canadian degrees. That's for every day until Sunday.
DISAPPEARED
On The Run In Thailand
Islamic Extremists have put a reward of 10 million rupees on the head of Pakistani Christian Faraz Pervaiz - who lives in Bangkok and is looking for asylum.
The reward for cutting off the Pakistani's head is currently at U.S. $375,000 - 12,6 million baht in real money.
Extremists call him a 'blasphemer' for Christian posts on social media.
Until now, no country seems willing to help Pervaiz.
Jamaat Ahle Sunnat, a Barelvi sect of Islam has posted the current Nonthaburi address of Pervaiz and family.
The price of the head of Blasphemer Maloon [cursed] Faraz Pervaiz has been set at one crore [10 million rupees]. The only punishment for insulting the Prophet is beheading.

There is still some talk about Will Smith's little-girl slap of comedian Chris Rock, who made a joke about his wife. Well, about her hair.
Good lord, is that really how you defend your spouse?
Seems to me if you can't do better than a little-girl slap, you shouldn't be doing it.
Tell ya for damned sure that my spouse can (and has) done better than a tiny little slap. And my spouse is a confirmed girl.
The Huffing and Puffing Ton Post now suggests there are active rumours that Will Smith's not necessarily fully interested in women.

So, let me get this straight...
Ms Universe Thailand and her closest buddies at the billionaire's 'ministry' of public health are pulling back their public information briefings to once a week, instead of 7 times a week.
Does that mean the pandemic is over?

PRAYUT: I'm not going anywhere
The nominal 'prime minister of Thailand' said on Tuesday that if you need him between now and November, he'll be at Government House or a home.
He has scheduled the next APEC summit for November and he's not going away.
That is:
No dissolution of parliament and
Definitely no snap election during 2022.
Political opposition parties sneered.
At a forum titled 'Dinner Talk: Thailand Future 2022', hosted by the Nation Group, six politicians were asked if they thought the government will keep its current shape through to when the APEC summit takes place at the end of the year.
Unanimous answer: Nope.
The experienced politician Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, leader of the Thai Srang Thai Party, said Prayut and cronies will try to stay on until the APEC meeting.
But then, she said, they will definitely dissolve parliament.
"They will stay beyond APEC to spend money ineffectively again via populist schemes.
"And they want to use their power to benefit their own people. They will dissolve the House before completing the term."

Democrats: Stop using weed as your only issue.
Massively wealthy business operator Anutin Charnvirakul took his Thai Pride Party to a near election victory on a single issue: "Vote for us and we'll give you cannabis".
(And then the junta selected Anutin as 'minister of public health', which multiplied the confusion.
The older voices of the Democrat Party are now telling Anutin and the public to stop their one-issue campaigns.
Especially sincd Anutin and backers are dropping hints that marijuang is a miracle drug against Chinese Covid-19.
Bumjaithai is currently pushing for new organic laws that would regulate the home production of marijuana plants and its extracts, such as oil.
PHOTO: Anutin with his beloved vegetable. The Bhumjaithai Party leader has said publicly he is "ready to be prime minister" as soon as the junta drops support for Prayut.

THAILAND CORONAVIRUS
In just one day (Tuesday) the number of new cases of Chinese Covid-19 dropped inside Thailand by just about 3,000. From 24,635 to 21,578.
The number of deaths seems unaffected, with 78, about the same as every day recent.
STOP, SHOP, SHOOT: The Bang Sue Grand Station in Bangkok is sponsoring the Thai Book Fair, where you can peruse and buy books, and stop off at the Central Vaccination Centre for another Covid-19 vaccination.
https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2286850/
By the numbers, as of Tuesday night:
21,678 new cases
78 deaths
245,154 active cases
1,748 serious cases
27,154 recovered
How many times do we have to say this before you dopes understand?
When the junta says "NO", the junta means "NO!"

Well, that's one way to put it...
Tourism sentiment in the doldrums
But it's entirely because of those darned Ukrainians, and the Russians!
The tourism index in the first quarter remains depressed, while the risk of more unemployment still clouds the outlook for the next quarter.
"Tourism operators are still struggling to maintain business as the number of tourists has yet to fully rebound due to the current travel rules. This obstacle needs to be removed before more operators collapse," said Chamnan Srisawat, president of the TCT.

THAILAND ECONOMY ELECTRIC VEHICLES EVs
Junta gives a small boost to EV production (which doesn't exist, yet)
PTT Public Co Ltd, the state-owned oil and gas giant, has suggested that the government and private sector establish “Team Thailand” to promote the Electric Vehicle (EV) segment. The aim would be to help promote Thailand as the “Detroit of Asia” in EV production.
PTT President and CEO Auttapol Rerkpiboon made the proposal during the 2022 Nation Dinner Talk Thailand Future event. He explained that the move would involve cooperation from related sides in attracting foreign investors and penetrating foreign markets.
He added that it was imperative for Thailand to quickly capitalize on the new EV trend, and recommended the establishment of EV manufacturing plants. The executive also acknowledged that PTT would have to continuously monitor EV developments, despite being an oil and gas company.

Russian billionaire poisoned... but not to death.
Yet.
Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich was poisoned, while "helping out" at the Russia-Ukraine peace talks.
Ukrainian participants also were poisoned.
Gee, does anyone know a country that uses chemical poisoning of people it dislikes
This BBC video is excellent:
Oh, just mentioning...
The completely useless CIA and the totally pathetic DIA and the rotten (top to bottom) "Thailand is democratic" U.S. State Department got everything wrong about Russia, the Russian army, etc, etc.
Even CNN admits it.
When Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine last month, US intelligence assessed that the country-wide assault could lead to Kyiv falling into Russian hands within days.
But
https://edition.cnn.com/2022/03/29/politics/tod-wolters-intelligence-gap-us-russia-ukraine/index.html
That's correct. The effect "intelligence community" ... maybe possibly it wasn't lying for the past 50 years. Maybe it's just useless.
As even CNN says, U.S. intelligence has a big, fat BUT.
THAILAND U.S.A. CRYPTO
Great idea, except the U.S. government and all Americans are banned from using their dopey "e-cash" in Thailand. So there goes that F-35 deal, for starters.
The e-cash would be a digital analogue to the greenback and could preserve privacy and anonymous transactions, according to an adviser on the bill.
A group of U.S. lawmakers says the U.S. Treasury Department may be the right government entity to create a digital dollar – not the Federal Reserve. A new bill introduced Monday would authorize just that.
Yes. Correct. Banned completely for Thailand and for Thais.
The electronic dollar, as defined in the bill, would be a bearer instrument that people could hold on their phone or a card. The system would be token-based, not account-based, meaning if someone were to lose their phone or card, they would lose the funds. In other words, it would be like losing a wallet with dollar bills in it.

THAILAND DRUGS
After a day of battling with the Rural Doctor Society, Thailand's junta-owned Public Health Ministry sneers, says they have a huge supple of favipiravir pills on hand.
Alleged "health officials" will procure more anti-viral tablets ahead of the Songkran festival next month, after the Rural Doctor Society (RDS) complained about a shortage of anti-Covid drugs.
Sirikul Matevelungsun, deputy managing director of the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO), said yesterday 110 million favipiravir pills were kept in stock. Of them, 80 million were and are being delivered to hospitals that need them for Covid-19 patients.
The GPO had planned to distribute the remaining 30 million pills at the start of Songkran in the middle of next month.
U.S.A. MASK MANDATE
A lawsuit has begun, charging the U.S. government with malfeasance, damages and more for a mask mandate it can't even enforce.
The current mask mandate for travelers is set to expire on April 18th unless the C.D.C. extends it yet again.
Hint: The U.S.A. C.D.C. will extend it again.

U.S.A. ECONOMY SOLAR
The United States' Department of Commerce has caught on to the illegal 'forwarding' of solar panels - into Thailand and then onto the United States.
It is a major part of Thailand's increasing programme of exports.
A U.S. investigation will try to get to the bottom of
who is making the solar panels (hint: China)
who is making tonnes of money from the trade (hint: Thai junta)
Corrupt governments in Malaysia, Vietnam and Camdobia are involved as China seeks addition governments and projects for sale.

And if you're in Bangkok and you are even thinking about those great old Songkran water-festival battles...
NO! NO! A THOUSAND TIMES 'NO'!
City Hall announced on Tuesday there will be tough, armed military patrols roaming the capital from April 10-17).
Anyone caught on Bangkok streets or markets will be instantly arrested, unless they are "fully vaccinated" (whatever that means) and carrying a vaxxport.
Completely banned (and subject to fines and imprisonment)
all water splashing
all drinking of all alcohol
foam parties,
powder-smearing
Everyone outside their homes must wear a face mask.
There must be none of this 'eating together' nonsense because it spreads Covid-19.
