THAILAND TRAVEL SPENDING
Effective immediately
the Thai government has ordered a ban and closure of all 'duty-free upon arrival' shops at all airports in Thailand.
Before: travelers entering the Kingdom through international airports could purchase duty-free goods up to 20,000 baht -- call it 547 U.S. dollars, 745 loonies.
This led... the Finance Ministry claimed... led to decreased domestic consumption and shopping.
As of Monday, there were three legal shops, and now there are none.
Affected are stores at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Hat Yai, U-Tapao, Samui and Krabi airports and hundreds of suddenly unemployed.

I'm Not Accepting Your Apology, Do You Understand?
A British teacher at an international school and current resident of Phuket claims that the owner of Smart Tailor slapped her so hard that she fell down.
Right In Front Of My Children!
The owner is a guy, who told the cops that he's going up-country but he'll be back in a few days and maybe he'll talk about it.

If it sounds like clickbait and looks like clickbait...
well, it's a somewhat confusing political-business news analysis.
Last month the cabinet approved the establishment of a Cloud First Policy Committee to steer all state agencies towards the digital government scheme.
The committee's main task is steering the government's cloud policy. It is expected to develop related policies for cloud usage and guidelines for state agencies on how to select types of cloud services.

US-China spat will boost Thai exports
Promises, promises...
Thai exports should gain from the latest round of the US-China trade war, with growth estimated at 0.8-1.5%, up from an earlier projection of 0.5-to-1.5 percent.
The [China-U.S.] trade war will speed up Chinese entrepreneurs' decisions to relocate their production facilities to Thailand, which will become their new export base.

There's that key word --but, meaning 'this is the story, forget all that stuff above.'
He is often sharp and focused. But he also has moments, particularly later in the evening, when his thoughts seem jumbled and he trails off mid-sentence or seems confused. Sometimes he doesn't grasp the finer points of details. He occasionally forgets people's names, stares blankly and moves slowly around the room.

IRAN POLITICS ELECTION
by Marc Champion of Bloomberg View, former Istanbul bureau chief of The Wall Street Journal.
NOTE: This is an excellent quick-cut summary of who is who and what's what in Iran.
Cues from Iran on who to vote for
For Iranians deciding whether to turn out for round two of voting today [July 5], the choice is between ensuring a marginal improvement in their situation and holding out for regime change, with all the potential for chaos and renewal that implies. If they stay away again, Jalili will almost certainly win, gaining most of Ghalibaf's votes.

A tale of two Faucis
America became enamored with Fauci.
This munchkin sized guy was adorable and had mass appeal — everyone’s Uncle Teddy! And, he had “credentials” — alphabet soup after his name. On the other hand, Ted Kaczynski the Unabomber had MORE letters following his name than Fauci, a genius level IQ of 167, attended Harvard at age 16, and was a professor at University of California, Berkeley. Education and intelligence don’t always translate into competence, honesty, and ethics.
ABOVE: Fauci, the man who created Mass Formation Hypnosis.
