Thailand flood news is bad news
That is the court ruling. It's safe to say that not everyone is pleased.
Opinion: Prayut's Return as 'prime minister' Comes With Many Unanswered Questions
Less than twenty minutes after he was let off the hook by the Constitutional Court, General Prayut Chan-o-cha made it clear he is planning to stay on to do more 'great things' for Thailand.
It is also clear as crystal that the coup leader who first became 'prime minister' by force back in 2014 is not going to step down or return the mandate to the people.

Titular 'Prime Minister' Prayut Chan-o-cha returns to work after the court's ruling confirming his tenure in office, but avoids questions about his political future.

Prayut ordered newspaper, radio and internet political reporters to never
ever again
ask him about his future political plans such as "will you stand for election?"
Which he won't because why should he?
As Constitutional Court-entitled 'prime minister of Thailand' Prayut controls 1) the date of dissolution of the House of Representatives and 2) the date of a (possible) 2023 election.
But "Not Now", he ordered all Thai media.

Chiang Mai floods
Much of the business section (Muang district) of the Rose City goes underwater - as the rains come down and the Ping River rises.
The floods are just about back to the forgettable 2011 levels - which brought disaster to the entire country.

The Ping River (left) is over its banks.
Royal Thai Army soldiers went door to door to evacuate hundreds to safer areas.
And meanwhile
The Nan River overflowed and inundated most of the Central Thai provincial capital of Nakhon Sawan.

The Nan is a tributary of the Chao Phraya River that passes through Greater Bangkok.
Floods on Monday overflowed into central (Muang) district of Nakhon Sawan town, and put the central market out of business.

Thailand's economic outlook in a word.
And that word is 'bleak.'
CAUTION ACHTUNG!
This is a long newspaper read. Settle back, maybe with a puppy or that calm pussycat that likes to curl up on your lap - coffee, tea or beer close at hand.
Thailand's economic outlook into 2023 looks bleak as world economies head for a 'hard' recession
Thailand's inflation has been hitting 14-year high as August's data showed that consumer price index (CPI) stood at 7.86%, while those in July at 7.61%, June at 7.66% and May at 7.1%.

A yearly reminder, maybe more.
The "calm" Andaman Sea to the west of Thailand is unsafe for a good part of the year. Like now.
Lifeguards and district officials post red flags, but there always are are people who don't believe the severity of
Rip tides and Jellyfish, just for starters. Take the caution flags seriously.
