This morning's junta-approved headlines and TV-news stories have a single focus: 'Thailand decriminalizes' marijuang/hemp. Which is sort of, kind of what happened on Thursday. So see if you can follow this.
On Thursday, 150,000 Thais got on their PCs and smartphones and registered with Thailand's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for permission to grow cannabis and hemp, as the new regulations allow.
Because although new laws make it perfectly legal to grow, harvest, use or sell the plants, you can't do so without permission of the junta.

After registering, people can grow and use cannabis or hemp for medical and commercial purposes, the FDA secretary-general said.

The Covid death rate for white Americans has recently exceeded the rates for Black, Latino and Asian Americans.

Prisoners go bye-bye
Thousands of convicts walked out of lockups all across Thailand on Thursday. And many more will follow.
The junta's Correctioin Department has promised to free all convicts serving time for any marijuana-ganja offences.
The amnesties began Thursday, the day that it became legal to grow and harvest cannabis and hemp throughout Thailand.
Prisoners held for marijuana-plus-other crimes will not be freed.

THAILAND SUBMARINE CHINA
Thailand's alleged 'government' and the Royal Thai Navy have agreed to give Chinese shipbuilders and the Chinese Communist Party to more months to build and deliver the submarine they promised.
China Shipbuilding & Offshore International Co (CSOC) two more months to honour its agreement to supply the navy with an S26T Yuan-class submarine with German-made MTU396 diesel engines.
Construction of the sub has run into several problems. The first in 2019 was that the submarine construction was based in Wuhan.
And CSOC now claims it has tried all available channels to urge the German maker of the diesel engine to approve its purchase request but to no avail.
The engine dispute could become a game-changer.

Prayut hails Lao help in crime fight
Junta 'prime Minister' Prayut thanked Laos for cooperating with Thai authorities to suppress crime along the Thai-Lao border and crack down on transnational call centre scams.
The prime minister praised the success of a joint operation between the two sides to suppress crimes along their shared border areas, especially the call centre scam gangs which have their base of operations in the Golden Triangle in northern Laos.

The study was conducted on 18 rectal cancer patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan and had a 100 percent success rate.
