Thailand mask mandate (and rules of the Covid regime) will remain in force until public criticism of the Thai junta dies down.
Yes, please, settle down, don't force me to call your parents. It's Wednesday, April 20, so just make a small note of that.
THAILAND CORONAVIRUS ENDEMIC
Remember all that horse-hockey yesterday about how Thailand's junta is going to lead the country from pandemic to endemic on Canada Day?
Forget it. For the fortyleventh time, the junta has changed its mind about the Covid-19 pandemic.
The new story from the totally uneducated 'minister of public health Anutin Charnvirakul is this:
Yeah, we had plans to go from pandemic-to-endemic on Canada Day.
But with all these new infections and deaths, we have to go more slowly.

Thailand junta promises 'public forum on the economy' before Next Big Announcement' on Covid-19 coronavirus.
The forum will be held at a public venue, not on the premises of a government agency. Prayut promised that he would personally chair the meeting, once it is scheduled.
Prayut said:
The traditional Thai New Year - Songkran, last week - marks the junta's New Beginning for moves to propel the country forward under a government economic rehabilitation plan which hopes to boost the tourism sector, exports and investment.

The mask mandate (and rules of the Covid regime) will remain in force until public criticism of the Thai junta dies down.
Same as China.
Except, Thailand might have an election next year.
Prayut has been pencilled in for talks with U.S. President Biden on either May 12 or May 13, date-and-time to be confirmed shortly.
The bad news for Tuesday on the Covid-19 front:
16,891 new infections reported
129 deaths, 97% of whom were either elderly or had an underlying disease. The age range was 10-98 years.
But another 17,642 people were vaccinated, bringing the national total inoculated Thais to 36%.
Your call is important to us...
The regime's 'Covid hotline' (1330, or 1669, or LINE @BKKCOVID19CONNECT) is getting 10,000 (Ten THOUSAND) calls a day from uncertain people.
Many wanted medicine, or information about where and how to go for Covid treatment.
The National Health Security Office (NHSO) said every call was handled and answered, no exceptions.

THAILAND DEEP SOUTH INSURGENCY
Back to the War
The poor, trusting males who run Thailand's ruling junta not only believed they had a month-long Ramadan cease-fire with separatists and insurgents.
They even bragged about it. That was then and this is now.
On early Tuesday in Pattani province, next to Malaysia, separatists set an ambush on a main road. Assailants lay in wait for a particular Thai assistant village headman.
They attacked him from behind, shot and wounded him. Police are investigating.
The ambushers high-tailed it over to neighbouring Narathiwat province, where they unfurled a banner that could had been straight out of the 1970s. It read:
Patani not Siam. Get out. Patana Merdeka!

And then...
EXPLANATION: Criminal gangs need financing, too.
An armed man strolled into the Yang Hub Teng gold and jewellery shop in the Big C superstore in Pattani province.
He waved a 9mm pistol at the worker, grabbed about 15 baht-weight from the shop, and ran out, leapt onto his Honda Wave, and was gone.

In case you think that's an exaggeration, here's a high-ranking government agent to show you that you're wrong.
In September of last year, Ginger Jen Psaki who runs all U.S. government information to all the U.S. told all Americans and all international media that U.S.A. border patrol agents on horseback chased down and whipped Haitrian migrants at the southern U.S. border.
Her statement was a total lie. No one was whipped, and Psaki carried her lie to President Biden, who claimed (on her word) that Haitians were chased by agents on horseback and whipped with the horses' reins.
On Tuesday, Ginger Jen refused to admit the above, and flatly refused to apologize for her lies about
whipping
brutality
inappropriate measures by border agents
that she lied about to the media, the American people and the world about the entire incident, top to bottom.
It's a pretty good example of why Americans don't trust the media - or their spokeswomen.

Ginger Jen has refused for exactly 16 months to explain her hair.
One presume her husband knows for sure.
