A public health committee recommends to the Thai prime minister's Office of the Narcotics Control Board to put ganja back on the list of narcotics.
At least four government agencies are involved but as of New Year's Eve -- 175 days -- marijuana and the thousands of stores and kiosks selling will be illegal once again.

He withdrew his malfeasance-in-office complaint against current Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin. Insiders are certain that Thaksin and his sister Yingluck are behind the move.
Sereepisuth's Story So Far: When he visited Thaksin in the hospital, the convict asked him to drop the case. And then, Yingluck called him from her overseas-flight location with the same "request."

Cambodia starts to flex its muscles
The Funan Techo Canal -- a US$7 billion (62 billion baht) waterway -- reflects Cambodia's growing confidence and assertiveness in pursuing national interests. This water infrastructure projects Cambodia as a viable and dynamic little tiger, no longer a war-torn nation.
When finished, the 180 (Canadian) kilometre waterway will connect Phnom Penh Port with Kep at the Gulf of Thailand.
The new canal will significantly reduce this dependency upon Vietnam. With a common land and maritime border, both countries need cooperation, not contestation.
China is fully behind the project, through its Belt and Road Initiative.
