Good day to all readers of Fishwrap, where all-a ya are welcome.
It is or darned soon will be 3 December 2024, aka Tuesday, and what you see below here is the Early, or Bulldog Edition. Dig In!
There are only 1,434 days until the U.S. presidential election.
This weather forecast is presented in respect for Americans who don't have any idea what '22 Celsius' even means.
How the **ck can people even live in such temperatures? But this might be a great movie, eh?
Hippopotamus Day
Our favourite baby pygmy hippo Moo Daeng (Red Pork) emerged out of the mudhole where he and his mummy live. He shook off the water (so cute) and took one quick look around. Then he scurried back into the mudhole and cuddled up to his mama.
The scientific and Expert conclusion: Bangkok and surrounding provinces of the Central region are in for at least two more months of bone-chilling weather, getting lower by the day.
THAILAND TRAFFIC FATALITIES
A crane collapse caused a serial accident along the notorious Rama II Road in southest Bangkok.
The accident killed two Thai and four Burmese construction workers, and injured others.
Khao Sod (Fresh News) https://t.ly/eWu6I
In six years up to yesterday, 2,242 accidents along Rama II Road have killed 132 workers and car drivers.

THAILAND DIPLOMACY SINGAPORE
By Cat Wong, Singapore ambassadress to Thailand.
Celebrating 60 years of firm ties
PHOTO: Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra, better known as Ung-Ing, greets Singapore's Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong. He's the first official visitor to Thailand since Paethongtarn became prime minister.
Wong's visit holds great significance for both countries as Singapore and Thailand prepare to celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations next year. This joyous occasion also coincides with the 60th birthday of Singapore. Thailand was one of the first countries to recognise Singapore's independence on August 9, 1965.
Singapore and Thailand have always been among each other's top 10 trading partners. Singapore also continues to be a steadfast investor in Thailand because we [i.e. Singapore] believe in Thailand's economic potential.
THAILAND NORK ANALYSIS
Reopening the Anocha saga of 1978
It has been 46 years since North Korean agents in Macau abducted Anocha Panjoy and forced her into a life of depravity in that hermit kingdom. From Day One, North Korea has denied responsibility, but there are photos and eyewitnesses who know that Anocha was forced into marriages in North Korea.
Thailand must adopt a more assertive approach, leveraging multilateral forums such as the United Nations to amplify pressure on Pyongyang. Collaborative efforts with human rights organisations, neighbouring countries, and global powers could create a unified front to demand justice.
Oh, sure, the United Nations and select NGOs can settle this.

Now missing as of this morning: Missing for 46 years, 6 months, 10 days

Asia's best Sunday read: Roger this week delves into words.
Can't be much fun being a lame duck
Below: Roger, last week in his beloved garden oiut there on south Sukhumvit.
People may well ask why it was ducks and not other birds which were unfortunate enough to be landed with the "lame" tag. After all it's hardly positive PR for the common duck. You only have to look at a duck and the word "lame" springs to mind. The alternatives are not very appealing, however. A "hamstrung heron.",. "pickled parrot", "plastered partridge" or "incapacitated ostrich" don't quite create the required image in the same way as the poor old duck.
Interesting Contrast: In Canuckistanian and American sports, the losers get goose eggs, not ducks.
Fishwrap hasn't authoritatively researched this but goose eggs are even bigger than duck eggs and it's good to 'goose' losers, right?
USA POLITICS CORRUPTION
How Great Was The Decision To Always Give 10 Percent For The Big Guy?
United States President Joseph Biden pardons son Hunter of all crimes, known or unknown.
UNEXPECTEDLY! Biden pardons his son Hunter despite previous pledges not to.
NOTE: Even the House of Stephanopoulos (ABC TV USA) frowns.
Two only possible upsides:
If Hunter ever is 'convinced' to testify against Joseph, he cannot plead The Fifth, ever.
Joseph Biden's pardons for his son is blanket approval for Literally, Hitler to literally pardon every January 6 'rioter' without exception.
Her heart and brain are correctly placed. True Story.
Alana, young-ish Limey chick is on an afternoon quiz show.
Host: Alana, what do you do?
Alana: I'm a fourth-year uni student; I'm studying Russian and Spanish.
H: Oh, my. Between the two, which one do you prefer?
A: Definitely Spanish. Spain is a warm country.
No kidding? That's like asking someone if they would prefer to attend Chulalongkorn or Yukon University, eh?
(It's Moo Deng, not Moo Daeng, different meaning)
