It's a Sad and Joyous Day in Nong Bon Thailand
G'day all Fishwrappers of all ages and countless genders.
This is the last edition of the Daily Fishwrap for, oh, about one month. Roughly.
The entire staff including your proud Chief Editor are out the door to pack and otherwise prepare for their month-long free trips abroad.Me? Me and the old la... Oopsie!.
My lovely wife and I will fly (on an airplane, not personal propulsion) and start in the northeastern U.S.A. where there will occur a partial family reunion at gorgeous Hamilton Reservoir - followed by some days of looking at beautiful fall leafage preparing for winter.
See you in about approximately roughly mid-November.
The Royal Thai police said Saturday they have busted an international human trafficking ring based in Pattaya.
They arrested the organizers - an American, a German, a Brit and a Thai.
A couple in handcuffs are identified so far only as British national "Mr. Tucker", 60, and his partner "Ms. A" 43.
They operated out of a bar in the main Pattaya "entertainment" area of Soi Buakhao.
Criminal charges include
 • operating a child sex trafficking ring and
 • luring minors into prostitution.
This is the police operating chart:

When police swooped in to arrest the couple they found
eight underage girls working in the bar; one girl age 16, five girls age 15, one girl age 14, and one girl age 12.

The Trapped 13: How We Survived the Thai Cave
I have now seen all four of the major films of this dramatic rescue story. This one is Made In Thailand and is the best by quite a long distance.
 That said.
It's a documentary. It's a bilingual (more often Thai than English) flick, so that will turn off X% of the audience. Fine. Go watch a Hollywood rom com.
The stars of the first hour-plus of 'The Trapped 13' are the boys and their coach Eak, and the Moms, with occasional appearances by the highly respected Chiang Rai province governor Narongsak Osotthanakorn - who took the helm of the rescue operation on Day One.
The flick is not-staged. It features, start-to-finish, super excellent and well chosen clips. (The director is Pailin Wedel, daughter of my successor as UPI Bangkok bureau chief.)
The subtitle 'How WE Survived' is perfect. The two-week ordeal of the 12 boys and their young coach, without a morsel of food, is almost too difficult to describe - so they describe it themselves, beautifully and super-compellingly.
The highlights of agony and fears of their 15 days (including by Moms) was their ironclad decision to stick together as a true team.

Sure. It's a deep dark mystery to the clueless U.S.A. intelligence agencies, that's for sure.

Thai King out-does the junta
As mentioned before, the King and Queen hurried from Bangkok to the site of the child-massacre in upper Isan, while Prayut was pretty busy with other really important matters.
[NOTE: Prayut did make it to the village scene, eventually.]
His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun along with Queen Suthida were talking with victims' families very quickly. And this will be noticed.
All radio and TV stations broadcast the King's words.
"I come here to visit and give you moral support. I want to express my condolences. I am deeply saddened by what has happened.
"I share your grief and sorrow.
"If you have any trouble, I will see to it that you are given help and are looked after.
"There are no words that can express the sorrow. I give support to you all and wish you to be strong, so the spirits of the children can be free from worry, knowing that their relatives are strong and can carry on with their life.
"We will make merit and hold prayers for the departed and to boost the morale of everyone.
"A bad incident has happened and now we have to do as best as we can."
The Queen was at his side.
The royal couple also travelled to next-door Udon Thani Hospital  in  Muang  district  of  Udon Thani to visit and give a basket of gifts to  a  three-year-old  boy,  Krissakorn "Mix" Ruangcharoen, who survived the incident but needed an operation for his injuries.

New York City Democrats are more united than New York Post editorial writers.
Every single one of the eight Democrats running for mayor vowed to protect illegal immigrants from deportation, solidifying the Big Apple's often infamous status as a "sanctuary city."

Entrepreneur Andrew Yang, son of legal Taiwanese immigrants, said, "I appreciate anyone who comes to this country or New York City for a better life."

Is AP [Associated Press] a news organization any more?
NO. NEXT QUESTION?
“The Associated Press is hardly some random blogger without the resources to check their facts independently, and yet their social media team tweets out a story from 4 days ago as if it were current.
