There is a (new) Bridge Over The River Kwai
Good, good morning boys and girls and all visitors.
Bangkok weather continues balmy, with only occasional rain showers.
The Usual Rules Apply
1) Opine and/or bloviate.
2) Do not run with sharp objects.
3) Don't piss in our pool.
4) Be kind to one another.
5) Yes, have a wonderful Sunday!
The (new) Bridge Over The River Kwai
Plans call for a formal opening early next year, and to call the bridge a 'skywalk'.
[NOTE: 'Khwae' is the newest, official spelling of the rivers that are long known as 'Kwai'. Never mind.]
Located in the old town district of Kanchanaburi, the 130-metre skywalk - which is suspended 15 metres above the ground - will offer magnificent views of the confluence of the Khwae Yai, Khwae Noi and Mae Klong rivers.
The skywalk has caused controversy on social media, with critics blasting the decision to build a modern-looking structure in Kanchanaburi's well-preserved old town.
ALSO UPGRADED
This (below) is the new-look 'Klong Mae Kha' canal just outside of Chiang Mai town in northern Thailand.
The klong has long been a dumping ground for garbage and worse. But authorities think the new look will be tourist-friendly.
The Full Moon Party on Phangan Island in the southern Gulf of Thailand was held as scheduled.
Businesses claim that 20,000 people participated. Notable: More tourists from the Middle East including Saudi Arabia and Oman.

SPECIAL REPORT
The [alleged so-called] Thai 'government' has felt the wrath of social media and the political opposition for reacting too slowly to the incursion of a MiG-29 in Tak province's Phop Phra district on June 30.
"Myanmar has since apologised," Prayut said.
Prayut's attempt to wave away the Burmese incursion was that: Myanmar's MiG-29 fighter  was merely executing a turn that happened to violate Thai airspace.
The parliamentary opposition has also been having a field day renewing its attack on the RTAF's plan to procure two F35 jets worth 7 billion baht in total.
The budget for that has been earmarked for the next fiscal year starting in October.
Good for tourists, horrible for importers
The baht is on a slide. Here are the Monday morning opening currency prices.

NO ASIANS
-- Hunter Biden. And also this lady (below) now facing 12 (twelve) charges of hate crimes against Asians of all ethnicity - Equal Opportunity for her.
Also this trollop (below), Madeline Barker, straight outta Florida, spent her time in New York City picking out Asian women to scream "Go back to" [somewhere or other] and giving them a face full or two of her pepper spray.
Even the Manhattan District Attorney's Office thought she went a trifle overoard and has lockec her up for a spell.
And the space-taking oxygen thief in New York City who is quite discriminatory. He walked Gotham's streets to seek out ONLY women who are or looked like Korean.
He attacked two of them in a Rockefeller Center subway station, screaming at them to "go back to" Asia while he tried to beat the crap out of them.
He is under the care of a holding prison.

Speaking more fondly of the Big Apple...
The New York City Council has a proposal pending go name a four-block neighbourhood in the borough of Queens as
Little Thailand
More exactly, the region runs along Woodside Avenue, between 76th and 79th streets in the Elmhurst neighbourhood. There are numerous Thai restaurants and businesses there and, logically, Little Thailand.
Mayor Eric Adams has final approval.

Canadian visitor found - dead in a field
The 79-year-old man had come to Thailand to visit his girlfriend in Chaiyaphum province.
But on Friday, a housekeeper of the Twin Resort Pattaya Hotel found the body. An autopsy is under way.
There were no signs of violence, and he was carrying a waterproof bag with his passport and 300 Canadian dollars - 8,400 baht in real money.

This is the factual story. But the point (unstated) is that it's barely started and its not going to stop. At least without a new and more widespread Tiananmen massacre.

By coincidence, I just watched this show last night. I do not agree with the reviewer. I strongly doubt that anyone turned to his partner during the drive back to Denver and said, "Ya know, Bill Burr was really right about that woke stuff, eh?" Personally, I kept checking to see when it would end.

"'Bill Burr Live at Red Rocks' starts poorly but slowly hits its stride by shouting truths others fear to whisper. Again and again. It's amazing what a stand-up comic can achieve that way."
