Why the aliens stopped visiting Earth
Good morning children. It's Thursday morning, May 5, in Thailand.
Canadian gangster and Phuket killer claims he was killed in a plane crash.

Cancellation of planned Thai investment deals major blow to junta
The Texas-based oil-and-gas giant has decided, suddenly, to drop all plans to build and operate a billion-dollar ethylene cracker and refinery in Chon Buri, southeast of Bangkok.
The plan was a key project in the junta's flagship 'Eastern Economic Corridor' (EEC), spanning three eastern provinces.
The junta ordered all Thai media to "report" that the pullout by ExxonMobil would not affect the EEC, although it will. The Texans still operate in Thailand and still plan investment in the EEC.
The Thai junta's so-called 'minister of industry' Suriya Jungrungreangkit insisted there were two main reasons for the Exxon Mobil pullout: raging Covid-19 and low consumption of fuel and petrochemicals.
Exxon and the ruling military dictatorship announced plans for Exxon's investment five years ago.
Environmental and other Thai activists had consistently opposed Exxon's plans to site the cracker in Sri Racha district, where
Exxon already has an operating ethylene cracker, and
The Communist Party of China and Huawei conduct continual 5G tests.

You recognize this guy (below) right? I'm sure everyone does.
It's a mildly confusing story, so your best bet is the Vancouver Sun newspaper (link also below).
But he is, or was, Canadian gangster Gene Karl Lahrkamp, 36. He and best-buddy Matthew Dupre, also 36, were (allegedly) the two masked and armed hoodlums who went to Phuket in February to successfully ambush, shoot and kill Gangster Number Three, Jimi "Slice" Sandhu.
And now the official story is that Lahrkamp has died in an airplane crash, making it impossible for the Mounties to get their man.
Current scoreboard: Two down, one to go.
PHOTO: Gene Karl Lahrkamp is supposedly dead in a plane crash.
PHOTO 2: Mounties and Thai police say Lahrkamp is one of these two characters, caught on a CCTV feed at the time of the murder.

THAILAND ECONOMY INFLATION EXPORTS
What Thailand needs is a ban on exporting all food and agricultural produ....
Oh, wait.
Thailand is joining 53 member countries to propose the World Trade Organization (WTO) address export bans on food and agricultural products after members who are net food importers raised concerns about food shortages based on the pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war.
NOTE: There's no details yet (as usual) but if this passes, then Canada and U.S.A. can forget about eating fragrant rice for quite a long time. And soy sauce and potato chips. And mangoes!
Most Canadians and Merkins eat "food and agricultural products". Who knew, right?
How the Ukraine crisis is fueling a 'perfect storm' for food insecurity

Bloody interesting though, that there is no Russian invasion of Ukraine, only 'the Ukraine crisis'.
We'll get more of that as Holodomor II ratchets up.
As of this morning, the Russian rouble is at a 2-year high against the U.S. dollar, the Canadian looney and the dying continent's euro. So probably not worth an extensive visit.

THAILAND TOURISM
Change of the Day
You remember that beginning June 1, every foreign person must pay 300 baht to step into Thailand, right?
Well, the designated 'prime minister' said, "No, no! Incorrect."
Every foreigner must pay 300 baht to enter Thailand
UNLESS
they drive or walk into Thailand. Then there will be on entry fee.
And yes, you can walk into Thailand from every direction on the compass.
Second change of the day.
Head dictator in complete charge Prayut had a better idea.
For now, there will be no 300-baht entry fee. Not at all.
Subject to change and update.

THAILAND CORONAVIRUS
Wednesday wasn't a good day. Here are the initial stats in the attempt to slow the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Thailand ranks 24th in the global list of most cases. First is the U.S.A. (83.24 million), followed by India, Brazil, France and Germany.
China fails - again
China continues to insist it will soon reach 'Zero Covid', although it won't.
The latest: You cannot get a taxi, a metro or a bus in the capital city, Beijing.
The city's 22 million openly expect yet another full lockdown, and hit the markets and supermarkets on Wednesday to try to stock up and... well, hoard, for the coming Beijingalypse.
No schools, most buildings and small businesses blocked.
Shanghai began its second month of total lockdown - "Do not leave your housing compound".

Oh, lovely, let's make EVERYTHING about the pandemic as political as we can.
The disgraced American C.D.C. rose from its sickbed to call for mandatory, never-ending, police-enforced masks on planes and trains.
Associated Press: https://bityl.co/C4t5
This pits the C.D.C. against the newest study covering 35 countries and 600 million people that says masks "may have harmful unintended consequences."
Where by "unintended consequences", the study means "death".
The study is "Correlation Between Mask Compliance and Covid-19 Outcomes in Europe" and doesn't use words that are too long for C.D.C. folks to read.

The other unpopular U.S. 3-letter horror show now says (as of Monday) that we should treat Covid-19 like the flu.
The F.D.A. aka Food and Drug Administration has written and spoken out loud:
"Covid-19 will be in circulation for the foreseeable future and must be accepted as another common virus."
So no masks, no forced vaccination, no government inspectors or police.
Who saw that coming?

Havoc at Suvarnabhumi
A man on a motorcycle dodged the airport's security ring around noon on Tuesday and burst into the main terminal.
Then he pulled his handgun and slipped security again and headed out onto the airport apron.
It was an exciting 10 minutes for everyone who was there.
When searched by guards, the crazy man gave up a steel axe, a replica handgun and a pair of scissors.
Oh, and his pet pill box with one (1) unused methamphetamine tablet left over from his escapade.

THAILAND COUNTERFEITING
For the third day in a row, the actual acting 'prime minister' Prayut and police in Nonthaburi province, just north of Bangkok, warned that there are "a lot of counterfeit" 1,000-baht bills turning up.
There are no arrests, Helpful police and their media helpers warned the public to "be careful".

Police slapped the cuffs on a 14-year-old boy in Buriram.
He was charged with playing around and [looks around] having Ess Eee Ecks with a girl of the same age.
The boy's defence is simple enough: There was no force and both of us consented.
Oh, also, the boy's family said they had no money for bail or to buy off the girl's family.

The American soapmaker Dove has posted a confusing Thai-language PSA on Twitter and YouTube about forced haircuts for students in Thailand.
In a few hours, it gathered 28,000 views. And then it got 1.5 million on YouTube - and a deluge of comments on both.
Forced haircuts and uniform restrictions have annoyed students and generally impressed parents for at least three generations.
