The first day of the Ramadan fasting month has begun for 8 million Muslims in Thailand.
Wish your colleagues a "Ramadan Mubarak" as the simplest greeting. Or "Happy Ramadan," who not?
As you know, the best-known purpose of Ramadan is the fast, which begins before sunrise and ends after sunset.
IN Thailand, that's currently about 12 hours. The daily fast is inclussive: no food, no liquid, and there are other day-long bans such as no tobacco or celebration

One of the hundreds of broke promises of the ruling Thailand junta was the one made in 2016 to straighten libel, slander and defamation laws.
A recent victim is activist Sutharee Wannasiri (photo below) who has been fighting a defamation case brought by the chicken farm known as Thammakaset Co. Ltd. of Lop Buri.
The company has driven hundreds (including noteworthy Andy Hall of England) out of Thailand.
Cases began in 2016 when Fortify Rights and many chicken-skinning workers claimed they Thammakaset (ex-Betagro) was mistreating and cheating workers.
The junta has been as helpful as always, which is to say not at all helpful.

Looting the temple

Roman Catholic Pope Francis, who received literally millions of thoughts and prayers for remembering the children molested in Canada, said immediately afterwards he'd like to go to Kyiv (nee Kiev) and collect more praise.
